Abstract:
Local events play a significant role in the positioning of a tourist destination. In today’s time, when there is a noticeable increase in competition among destinations, events stand out as a key factor that attracts tourists. This paper highlights the views of visitors, as well as the significance of the Apatin Fishermen Evenings event, as one of the factors in the valorization of the tourist destination in the West Backa district. The goal is to investigate the opinions of the visitors to the Apatin Fishermen Evenings and their influence on the development and positioning of the tourist destination of this district. Based on the conducted research, the importance of the elements of the local event on the recognition and image of the destination has been proven, as well as that this event mostly gathers visitors from the district, but the number of foreign tourists is also noticeable.
