Abstract:
This study examines the impact of government incentives on accommodation quality in Serbian spa regions, with a focus on Hotel Podrinje in Banja Koviljača. Using an explanatory case study and a hypothetico-de¬ductive approach, the research combines qualitative interviews with policy analysis. Government support through subsidies, tax relief, and training programs enabled significant improvements in infrastructure and operational standards. These changes improve guest satisfaction and contribute to regional economic activity. Despite challenges such as bureaucratic barriers and uneven access to resources, strategic alignment of governmental, business, and individual efforts highlights the potential for sustainable growth in wellness tourism. This research emphasizes the importance of targeted incentives in transforming hospitality standards and supporting regional spa accommodation.
